2009 gmc yukon xl review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Smooth and refined hauler. introductionthe gmc yukon xl is gmc's version of the chevy suburban. As its name suggests, the xl is extra-long, 20 inches longer than the standard-length yukon. Like suburban, yukon xl is offered in half-ton or three-quarter ton capacities, and also the luxurious denali that encroaches on cadillac escalade. the yukon xl is a great choice for a big family towing cars, boats, horses, and travel trailers. Maximum towing capacity is 8100 pounds on 1500 and 9600 pounds on the 2500; subtract 1500-2500 pounds if the yukon is fully loaded. With its long wheelbase and heavy-duty construction, the yukon xl is a stable platform for towing while offering the interior cargo advantages of a full-size suv. The standard 5. 3-liter v8 can be upgraded to a 6. 0-liter v8, the only size offered on 2500-series, and denali uses a 403-hp 6. 2-liter v8. the yukon xl seats six to nine people, depending on configuration. There are many vehicles that seat seven people without taking up so much space to do it, but few with so much room left over for cargo. the optional leather seats are comfortable while the third row is vinyl in deference to (probably sloppy) riders. The driver sits way up high and feels like he or she is master or mistress of his or her domain. The pedals adjust for long or short legs. This rare truck is the cleanest i have ever seen and has been extremely well preserved for its 120,000 miles. This rig is loaded with sunroof, second row captains, dvd, nav, leather, and power rear gate. Thats right this is a one owner california yukon! These trucks are going up in value every year as fewer and fewer are on the roads. The truck has lived its life in the sunny west coast climate and had always been well cared for and garaged. The axles and suspension case are all stock, and ride height hasn't been modified and maintains a smooth, factory ride. This truck has never seen any off-road use or abuse judging by its perfect exterior condition. Everything runs and functions as it should while riding on a set of 17 alloy wheels wrapped in good year kevlar wranglers. The interior is in great shape all around. The windshield is in very nice condition and the glass is chip free. The tan leather bucket seats are all in very good shape and look great. All dials and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. The sound system is stock bose and remains crystal clear. The rear rows are great to carry extra passengers, and all seven seating positions have seat belts. Carpets are all perfect with no ware spots or damage. The rear compartment and carpets are in such clean condition! A new set of floor mats finishes off the interior nicely!. Mechanically, this yukon runs great! It starts right up and shifts great. The 6. 0l v8 engine has never been neglected and runs like a top! This is a 2500 model which has the larger motor and allows for significantly higher towing capacity than the 1500. This is widely known as being the best gasoline motor for towing. Every mechanical system on this truck was gone through and given a clean bill of health. The truck has a set of aftermarket headers mated to a gibson exhaust which gives it a nice subtle rumble. The engine compartment was fully detailed to show condition. The truck is tight as a drum and doesn't leak a drop of anything. Everything under the hood is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition and oem parts are used throughout.
